It’s hard to believe it’s been over a year since I lost my wonderful wife to Multiple Sclerosis. I decided each year to choose one image and release it as a limited edition print, with all profits going to fight the battle against this disease. This particular image is from one of the most unusual and beautiful places on the planet, Upper Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona. These shafts of light occur at various places throughout the canyon through the day. Most of them are very short lived, and because of the popularity of the canyon have become difficult to photograph.
This year the image will be offered as a matted print only (no frame or glass), with two different styles of mats, and is available in two sizes. The large size is a 13 x 20″ image, matted to an 18 ” x 24″ mat size. The small size is a 10″ x 15″ image matted to a 13″ x 19″ mat. Both mat choices are double mats. One is a traditional white “museum” mount with traditional bevel cut mats. The other is a black mat which is reversed bevel cut to prevent showing the white core, and a second color coordinated accent mat that has a black core so the bevel cut leaves a very nice delicate black line to frame the image. The print itself is mounted on a backing board with archival T-hinge mounting.
These two sizes were specifically chosen because ready made frames are available. However, I would suggest finding a custom frame shop and having a nice frame designed, such as a traditional black moulding, and using high quality anti-reflective glass (not non-glare glass, there is a big difference). For those living in the Salt Lake area, you might want to come by my store, Pixels Foto & Frame at 90th and State for framing.
This edition will be limited to 100 total prints regardless of size. All prints are made using the most recent archival pigment inks on high quality paper to insure the quality and long term resistance to fading of the image. Additionally I always offer these at a discount to my regular pricing to encourage more purchases. My goal of course is to eventually sell out the image so that the donation to the M.S. Society is maximized.
The smaller size print double matted is $165 + tax (Utah customers only) and shipping. (normal price on this size double matted is $275). The larger size print double matted is available for $225 + tax (Utah customers only) and shipping.(normally $445).
